Tampa Roofing Visibility Index

Tampa's roofing map has a center of gravity, and it isn't downtown. It's the southeast corridor — Riverview, Ruskin, Wimauma, Sun City Center — where the metro's growth has gone, and where nearly every heavyweight on this map keeps its office. The demand is there to match: homeowners across the metro search Google for a roofer about 7,970 times a month, one of the deepest pools we've mapped in Florida, behind only Miami and Orlando, and the profiles fighting for it are some of the biggest and fastest-moving in the state.

Most of those searches never get past the local pack — the little map and short list of companies Google drops at the very top. This map shows who actually owns that ground, neighborhood by neighborhood — a snapshot of who is visible right now, not a measure of who does the best work. If your company is on it — or should be — read the cards below like scouting reports: what the winners actually did, and where the ground is still open.

Colored squares are locked down by one contractor — the deeper the shade, the stronger their hold. Grey squares are up for grabs: no one wins them consistently yet. More roofers hold ground here than we have colors, so a color can repeat between territories on opposite ends of the map — the hover card is the tiebreaker. Start with your own neighborhood — that's where you're most likely to rank.

What the map tells us

The 10 most visible roofers

Two things put a roofer here: location — the pocket they sit in — and reputation, which sets how far that pocket reaches. Each card's bar shows how much of the 110-area map a roofer holds; the empty space is the map they don't reach. Some of these leads are earned and defensible. Others are sitting there waiting to be taken — the cards call out which is which. Rankings and reviews captured July 2, 2026; review counts are measured from that date.

Steadfast Roofing

Gibsonton, Riverview and Sun City Center
5 · 1,149 reviews · 70 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 13 of 110 neighborhoods, including 6 where they rank #1.
5%6%88%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Steadfast Roofing leads Tampa with the most worked Google profile we've seen in any county: a flat 5.0 across 1,155 reviews — 1,134 of them five-star — adding more than 20 a month, every one answered, with over ten thousand photos on the listing and hours set to 24/7. From Ruskin they hold top 3 in 13 of the 110 neighborhoods we checked, six at #1, through Gibsonton, Riverview, and Sun City Center. There's no twist here, and that's the point. Tampa's map is an arms race, and this is what the front of it looks like: a profile treated like a second storefront, worked daily for years. And still — 13 of 110 neighborhoods. The biggest machine in the state can't be close to everyone. The other 97 spots get decided the same way they do everywhere else: by whoever is nearby and awake. That's the room left in a market even this heavy.
2

Shingle Masters Roofing and Construction

Riverview and Gibsonton
4.9 · 642 reviews · 50 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 11 of 110 neighborhoods, including 7 where they rank #1.
6%4%90%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Shingle Masters is the second machine in the corridor, and by one measure the sharper one: seven #1 spots, the most on this board, around Riverview and Gibsonton — and where they show up, they average #3 on the map.The engine behind it runs at 644 reviews, 4.9, roughly 17 new ones a month, with every single review answered. Their customers write in from as far as Wesley Chapel, the opposite end of the metro, but the wins concentrate around the Commerce Street office — mass sets the reach, the address sets the anchor.Riverview is the one stretch of Tampa where two profiles this size grind against each other block by block. If your ground is anywhere else in the metro, look at what you're competing with instead — for most of this map, it's a fraction of this.
3

HOFFMAN ROOFING INC

Wimauma, Riverview and Balm
5 · 83 reviews · 3 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 9 of 110 neighborhoods, including 6 where they rank #1.
5%3%92%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Hoffman Roofing is the sprint on this board. Every one of their 83 reviews arrived within the last year — a 5.0 flat, built at full speed — and it bought the best conversion in the county: where Hoffman appears on the map, they average #2.9, holding six #1 spots across Wimauma, Balm, and the rural southeast. The reviews read like a small-town referral engine: “all our neighbors told us to call him.”Then it paused. Three reviews in the last 90 days, nothing since early May, and fewer than half of the reviews have ever gotten a reply.A year-old profile can take ground this fast — that's the encouraging half. The other half: fresh ground is held by momentum, not history. If the pause continues, this pocket reopens. If Hoffman is reading this: you're one habit away from making it permanent.
4

SouthShore Roofing & Exteriors

Tampa and Temple Terrace
4.8 · 580 reviews · 13 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 9 of 110 neighborhoods, including 2 where they rank #1.
2%6%92%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: SouthShore Roofing is named for the coast down by Ruskin and Apollo Beach. Their office — and their wins — are 25 miles north in Tampa and Temple Terrace. The map doesn't read your name; it reads your pin, and it handed them the city core instead of the shore. What they've built there is real mass: 581 reviews at 4.8, steady new ones every month. But look at the conversion — top 3 in nine neighborhoods and #1 in just two. The urban core is the most contested ground in the metro, where half this board is visible at every corner, so 580 reviews buys presence, not lockdown. That's the trade the city center offers everyone: more demand, more competition, thinner ownership. The corridor teams own blocks; the city teams share them.
5

Five Star Roofing and Construction, Inc.

Tampa
4.7 · 366 reviews · 8 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 8 of 110 neighborhoods, including 4 where they rank #1.
4%4%93%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Five Star Roofing shows up at more spots on this map than anyone — 71 of our checks, ahead of even the #1 — but averages #7 where it does, converting all that visibility into top 3 in eight neighborhoods around Tampa proper. The profile is big and a little worn: 368 reviews at 4.7, about a hundred of them in the last year, though only eight in the last 90 days. Their reviews even mention an Orlando office — this is a multi-market operation, spread wide by design.Wide and thin is a strategy, and it works for being found. It just doesn't win blocks: reputation gets you onto the list almost everywhere, and then proximity picks the podium. If Five Star is the name you keep seeing below you in your own neighborhood, that's why they're below you — and why they'll stay there unless you go quiet.
6

New Foundations Roofing

Ruskin and Sun City Center
4.9 · 83 reviews · 1 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 8 of 110 neighborhoods, including 3 where they rank #1.
3%5%93%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: New Foundations Roofing sits on Sun City Center Boulevard, the main road of a town that is essentially one giant retirement community — tens of thousands of roofs, most of them owned by people who will hire exactly one roofer and tell their neighbors about it.Their profile fits the place: 83 reviews at 4.9, every one answered, built slowly — eleven in the last year, one in the last 90 days. And it works: where they show up, they average #2.9, with eight top-3 neighborhoods around Ruskin and Sun City Center. In a low-velocity pocket, being the established name on Main Street is enough. The caution is on the horizon: the corridor's two machines are fifteen minutes up the road, and profiles that add 20 reviews a month eventually come looking for quiet ground like this.
7

SCM Roofing, LLC

Tampa
4.9 · 240 reviews
Ranking reachTop 3 in 7 of 110 neighborhoods, including 3 where they rank #1.
3%4%94%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: SCM Roofing is Tampa's shadow contender. From Valrico they appeared at 65 of our checks — second most on this map — carrying 240 reviews at 4.9, with top-3 ground in seven neighborhoods and three #1 spots stretching toward Tampa. The pattern is the same one Five Star shows: visible nearly everywhere, averaging around #8 where they appear, winning outright only close to home. In this market that's what the second tier looks like — too big to miss, not close enough to lock down more than their own ground.Between SCM and Certified Roofers, Valrico quietly has two of the ten most visible roofers in the metro. If you work the eastern suburbs, your real competition isn't in Tampa. It's around the corner.

A First Choice Roofing

Riverview
4.3 · 173 reviews · 4 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 7 of 110 neighborhoods, including 1 where they rank #1.
1%5%94%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: A First Choice Roofing carries a 4.3 — the lowest rating anywhere in our county reports — on 173 reviews, with about eleven new ones a year and one reply for every five reviews. By every playbook, this profile shouldn't be on the board. It's #8. Top 3 in seven neighborhoods around Riverview, including a #1 — in the most contested corridor of the metro, next door to the two biggest review machines in the state. The profile has sat on the same Riverview ground for seven years, and the map keeps paying the address. This is the purest proof of proximity we've published: not a great rating, not activity, just years of being physically there. If you're losing map spots to a 4.3, stop blaming your rating — and if this profile ever wakes up, it's sitting on prime ground.
9

Certified Roofers & General Contractors, Inc.

Valrico, Fish Hawk and Lithia
4.8 · 226 reviews · 6 new in 90d
Ranking reachTop 3 in 6 of 110 neighborhoods, including 4 where they rank #1.
4%2%95%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Certified Roofers works the family-suburb east — Valrico, FishHawk, Lithia — from a house on Lynx Paw Trail, holding six top-3 neighborhoods with four #1 spots. This is the neighborhood-veteran pattern done right: 226 reviews at 4.8, nearly 500 photos, and almost every review answered. Their customers mention roofs the company installed fifteen years ago and still comes back to check on. A couple of new reviews a month, every month — no sprint, no drought.Nothing about this profile is spectacular, which is exactly the lesson. Steady care plus tenure plus the right address holds a suburb indefinitely — the giants an exit away have ten times the reviews and still don't crack these blocks, because nobody outranks the established roofer standing in the neighborhood.
10

Titanium Roofing

Ruskin and Apollo Beach
5 · 28 reviews · no new in 3 mo
Ranking reachTop 3 in 6 of 110 neighborhoods, including 3 where they rank #1.
3%3%95%
Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Titanium Roofing closes this board with 28 reviews. Next to the #1's 1,155, that's the widest gap between top and bottom of any county we've mapped — and Titanium holds ground anyway: top 3 in six neighborhoods around Ruskin and Apollo Beach, three at #1, averaging #5 where they appear. The profile itself is nearly parked: 25 photos, no new review in over three months, half the reviews answered. What's working is everything else — a 5.0 rating, a Ruskin address in the fastest-filling corner of the metro, and customers who say the roof held through a hurricane. But parked ground in a corridor with two machines and a one-year-old sprinter doesn't stay held. Titanium's spots are the most takeable #1s on this map — for them to keep, or for a hungrier neighbor to claim.

Reputation and reviews

In most of the counties we map, the review leader and the map leaders are different companies. Tampa is the exception — this is the one market where the review pile and the map ground mostly belong to the same names, and the bar is priced accordingly: the cheapest spot on this map went for a single review, the dearest for 1,900. A postscript on that cheap end: when we re-checked before publication, the single-review listing holding it had already vanished from Google Maps entirely — thin ground doesn't just get outworked, it gets deleted.

What it takes to win a spot — the reviews held by the #1 roofer at each of the 110 search points
Lowest bar1 reviewWesley ChapelCruz Roofing Group
Typical spot127 reviewsmedian of the 110 wins
Highest bar1,900 reviewsTampaWestfall Roofing
At one end, a quiet corner of Wesley Chapel went to Cruz Roofing Group on just 1 review. At the other, a contested spot in Tampa took Westfall Roofing’s 1,900. The bar is set by who sits near you, not by one citywide number.

Westfall Roofing is that 1,900 — and unlike the review giants in our other counties, Westfall's pile earns visible ground: the most expensive contested spot on this map is theirs, they sit in the citywide “roofing company” map pack, and they hold top-3 ground in four neighborhoods around Tampa.

And still — four neighborhoods, next to the thirteen Steadfast holds with fewer total reviews and an office planted in the growth corridor. Even in the one market where mass visibly pays, placement multiplies it. Tampa's lesson isn't that reviews don't matter; it's that they buy you a seat at the table, not the table.

Most visible in search

Tampa's search column shares almost no names with the map above — it's a different game with different winners. JA Edwards of America tops it while holding zero neighborhoods on the grid and carrying just 84 reviews. And here's the encouraging part: the site doing it isn't an authority monster — its link profile is a few hundred referring domains with a visible share of junk in them. Tampa's search column isn't gated by authority or by review counts. It's gated by having a website actually built for these searches, which almost no roofer in the metro has bothered to do.

The prize for bothering: 34 of the 70 searches we analyzed — things like “standing seam metal roof”, “tpo roofing”, “gable roof” — never show a local pack, about 2,700 searches a month that proximity can't touch. If the arms race on the map above felt out of reach, this is the other door. Here's who showed up most in the search results:

What we measured

We analyzed the 70 highest-volume roofing searches in Tampa — about 7,970 searches a month — then searched Google Maps from 110 points spread across Tampa (points over water are skipped) to record exactly which roofing companies show up, and where. 439 distinct roofing businesses appeared — and the same handful of names came up again and again.

Google answers a local search in two places: the local pack — the little map and the few businesses shown first (you may know it as the “map pack”) — and the regular results beneath it. This report is about the local pack, where most of the clicks go. We looked only at the results companies earn — not sponsored placements (Local Services Ads, Google Ads), which sit above them and are a separate, pay-to-play game.

How these rankings work

Local rankings are always moving. Google refreshes them constantly, so the exact order at any single point can shift week to week, and the leader at a hotly contested spot today may not be the leader next month. Run one of these searches from your own corner of Tampa and you may see a slightly different lineup, because Google tailors what it shows to exactly where you're standing.

All of which is why the citywide map only tells you so much. The one that decides whether your phone rings is your own: where you already win, where you never appear, and where a competitor down the street is quietly taking ground you can't see.
