Homeowners across Miami-Dade County search Google for a roofer thousands of times a
month, and most never scroll past the local pack — the little map and short list of
companies Google drops at the very top. This report maps who actually shows up there, where, and
why. It is a snapshot of who is visible right now, not a measure of who does the best work.
What we measured
We analyzed the 77 highest-volume roofing searches in Miami-Dade County — about 9,230 searches a month — then searched Google Maps from 88 points spread across Miami-Dade County (points over water are skipped) to record exactly which roofing companies show up, and where. 544 distinct roofing businesses appeared — and the same handful of names came up again and again.
Google answers a local search in two places: the local pack — the little map and the few businesses shown first (you may know it as the “map pack”) — and the regular results beneath it. This report is about the local pack, where most of the clicks go. We looked only at the results companies earn — not sponsored placements (Local Services Ads, Google Ads), which sit above them and are a separate, pay-to-play game.
Who owns each pocket
Each dot is a search point, colored for the roofer who ranks #1 there. The more of
the map a roofer owns, the more of it carries their color; grey dots have no clear local leader.
Hover any dot to see the top three.
No single roofer owns Miami-Dade County. 46 different companies are #1 in at least one pocket, and the biggest territory — Suncoast Roofers Company Miami Gardens's — is just 9 of the 88 points we searched. Visibility here is won neighborhood by neighborhood, not metro-wide.
Suncoast Roofers Company Miami Gardens is the roofer to beat in Hialeah, Opa-locka and Miami Gardens.
Action Roofing is the roofer to beat in Doral, Sweetwater and Tamiami.
Vivid Harbor Roofers is the roofer to beat in Homestead.
Top Hat Roofing is the roofer to beat in Coconut Grove, Downtown Miami and Key Biscayne.
Whole neighborhoods have no real leader. In South Miami, University Park, Flagami and Miami Springs and others, every #1 is a single-spot win with no established roofer behind it — the most winnable ground on the map.
Even Miami's core is contested: across its 27 search points the strongest roofer leads just 3, with 21 different one-spot winners splitting the rest.
Some pockets are beatable on reputation alone — West End is currently led by RoofRanger Roof Repairs Miami with just 1 review.
The 10 most visible roofers
Two things put a roofer here: location — the pocket they sit in — and
reputation, which sets how far that pocket reaches. Each card's bar shows how much of the
88-area map a roofer holds; the empty space is the map they don't reach. Rankings and reviews
captured June 26, 2026; review counts are measured from that date.

Reputation and reviews
The interesting thing about reviews and reputation is that they carry weight up to a point, and then
they don't. Look at what it actually took to win each spot across Miami-Dade County: the #1 roofer might have a
single review or a few hundred, depending on who else is nearby.

At one end, a quiet corner of West End went to RoofRanger Roof Repairs on just 1 review. At the other, a contested spot in Hialeah took Proper Roofing Inc.’s 653. The bar is set by who sits near you, not by one citywide number.
T&S Roofing Systems is a perfect example. They are the leader in reputation and reviews among roofers in Miami-Dade County, with over 1,200 reviews and a 4.8-star rating. That is more than any roofer that actually wins a spot above. You would think that would buy them a larger footprint on the map. It does not. They show up in the top 3 near their office, then drop off quickly beyond that. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes in how Google decides who shows up where, and how wide their reach is, so we cannot see the full picture from the outside. But it proves the point: reviews alone do not carry all the weight.

Most visible in search
The local map pack drives most of the clicks and calls, but it is not the only place business comes from. Below the pack sit the regular search results, and ranking there has more to do with the quality of your website and how closely your content matches what someone searched. It matters most on the informational searches, where Google shows no local pack. Of the 77 searches we analyzed, 35 showed no local pack at all, together about 3,400 searches a month. That is real value sitting in the regular results, and reaching it comes down to having a solid website with content relevant to what people are searching. The roofers who lead the map do not usually rank high in search, but Top Hat Roofing is the exception, with a strong presence in both. Here are the roofers who showed up most often in the search results across all 77 searches:

How these rankings work
Local rankings are always moving. Google refreshes them constantly, so the exact order at any single
point can shift week to week, and the leader at a hotly contested spot today may not be the leader next
month. Run one of these searches from your own corner of Miami-Dade County and you may see a slightly different
lineup, because Google tailors what it shows to exactly where you're standing.
All of which is why the citywide map only tells you so much. The one that decides whether your phone
rings is your own: where you already win, where you never appear, and where a competitor down the street
is quietly taking ground you can't see.
