Jacksonville Roofing Visibility Index

Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States — the city and Duval County are one and the same, an ocean-to-timberland sprawl wearing a single name. Roofing visibility here splinters to match: 57 different companies hold a #1 spot somewhere on this map, more than any market we've published, and the typical winning profile carries just 83 reviews. Homeowners across the metro search Google for a roofer about 6,730 times a month — and in a city this size, whoever is closest usually wins the block.

Most of those searches never get past the local pack — the little map and short list of companies Google drops at the very top. This map shows who actually owns that ground, neighborhood by neighborhood — a snapshot of who is visible right now, not a measure of who does the best work. If your company is on it — or should be — read the cards below like scouting reports: what the winners actually did, and where the ground is still open.

Colored squares are locked down by one contractor — the deeper the shade, the stronger their hold. Grey squares are up for grabs: no one wins them consistently yet. More roofers hold ground here than we have colors, so a color can repeat between territories on opposite ends of the map — the hover card is the tiebreaker. Start with your own neighborhood — that's where you're most likely to rank.

What the map tells us

The 10 most visible roofers

Two things put a roofer here: location — the pocket they sit in — and reputation, which sets how far that pocket reaches. Each card's bar shows how much of the 131-area map a roofer holds; the empty space is the map they don't reach. Some of these leads are earned and defensible. Others are sitting there waiting to be taken — the cards call out which is which. Rankings and reviews captured August 5, 2026; review counts are measured from that date.

How they got there: Land Roofing tops this board from Lem Turner Road on the Northside: 11 spots at #1 — the most in the metro — and top 3 in 14 of the 131 neighborhoods we checked, a run that starts at the office and reaches up to Callahan. The engine is 34 reviews at 4.8. The typical winning listing on this map carries 83; Land leads the whole board with less than half that. That's Jacksonville in one card: ground this wide isn't bought with reputation here, it's held by sitting in the right place while the neighborhoods around you run thin. But look at the direction of travel. In our July pass Land held 13 #1 spots and top 3 in 17; this pass reads 11 and 14 — and while most of this board added reviews between passes, Land added none.A lead held on placement alone is real, and rentable. The price to contest any one of these neighborhoods is a few dozen reviews and a closer address, and nobody on the Northside has brought both yet. If that's your side of town, this is the widest soft target we've published.

Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Preferred Roofing has the widest reach on the board: top 3 in 17 of the 131 neighborhoods we checked — the market high — four at #1, worked from Dunn Avenue on the Northside with 86 reviews at 4.7. Blend map reach with search visibility and no Jacksonville roofer scores higher on this pass. The search part is the separator: their website sits at #8 in the regular results for “roofing company” — the only listing in these ten with a page-one spot there. A second door most of this board doesn't have. And the ground under it is growing: in our July pass Preferred held ten top-3 spots and no #1s; now it's 17 and four. The read for everyone else: 86 reviews is not a wall — half this board could clear it in a season of steady asking. The website is the harder half to copy, and it's the half doing the compounding.

How they got there: Jacksonville Roofing appears on this board three times, and that isn't a typo. Three separate listings wear the name — one on Crystal Springs Road on the Westside with eight reviews, one on Beach Boulevard out by the Beaches with 25, one on Pippin Street downtown with 15, its website a free site-builder page. Different addresses, different domains, same two words: the city plus the industry.Counted as a name, it holds top 3 in 14 neighborhoods, four at #1. Pulled apart, the widest-reaching of the three carries eight reviews — a tenth of this map's going rate. And the pattern doesn't stop here: Priority Jacksonville Roofing Company, zero reviews and no website, holds two #1 spots at the map's western edge. You can't out-name listings like these, and you don't need to. Every one sits far below the 83-review bar a typical winner here clears. Ground held by a name alone is the softest ground on this board — it belongs to whichever nearby roofer decides to actually work a profile.

Jacksonville Roofing USA

How they got there: Jacksonville Roofing USA works from Wilson Boulevard on the Westside and holds the second-widest reach here: top 3 in 16 neighborhoods, four at #1, on 242 reviews at 4.9 — more reviews than the five listings above it combined.Yes, this name is also the city plus the industry — the difference from the trio a card up is what's underneath: thirty times the reviews of the widest of those listings, and a working operation compounding on top. In our July pass this profile held 14 #1 spots, the most on the map; this pass reads four, with top-3 ground in 16. Most of the reach held. The crowns didn't — that's the difference between owning ground and contesting it.The consolidator thesis stands with an asterisk: Jacksonville has still never produced a dominant roofer, and 242 reviews plus real territory is still the widest base to build one from. Whether it consolidates or keeps splitting is the next report's story.

Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: First Coast Roofing holds the Southside: seven #1 spots — second only to Land Roofing's 11 — and top 3 in 10 neighborhoods running down the map's southeast corner, one of them reaching Fruit Cove. The profile: a flat 5.0 across 205 reviews. Not 4.9 — 5.0, at a volume where one bad month usually shows.Since our July pass they went from four #1 spots to seven and added four reviews along the way — ground and reputation growing at the same time, which is rarer than either alone.Set this card against the giants above: the metro's 1,332-review name holds exactly one #1 spot; First Coast's 205 hold seven. On this map the formula is placement times consistency, not raw count — and this is the cleanest execution of it in the metro right now.

Massey Roofing & Contracting

Ranking reachTop 3 in 9 of 131 neighborhoods, including 6 where they rank #1.

How they got there: Massey Roofing holds the 103rd Street corridor on the Westside: six #1 spots, top 3 in nine neighborhoods, from a profile of 83 reviews at 4.8. Note that number — 83 is, to the digit, the median for winning listings on this map. This card is what the exact going rate buys when it's parked in the right corridor. The direction is right too: one #1 spot in our July pass, six in this one, three reviews added between passes. The corridor is theirs and getting more so.The lesson runs forward: at exactly the market bar, everything depends on staying at it. Hold a corridor at median strength and every review you add is pure margin. Slip below the bar and six #1 spots are the first thing this map takes back — ask any of the thin names further down this board.

Red Fox Roofers

How they got there: Red Fox Roofers holds East Jacksonville — Arlington, out the St. Johns Bluff corridor where their office sits: five #1 spots, top 3 in nine neighborhoods, on 392 reviews at 4.9, the second-deepest reputation on this board. Here's the line worth rereading: in our July pass Red Fox didn't hold a single top-3 spot. This pass they hold nine — and they added five reviews between passes, more than any other name here. A near-400-review profile at 4.9 doesn't sit off the board forever; when it lands, it lands with weight. This is a profile mid-move, and the east side is where it's moving. If your ground touches Arlington, this is the name to watch — and the pace to match, because 392 reviews compounding beats 392 reviews sitting still.

Kayco Roofing

Ranking reachTop 3 in 10 of 131 neighborhoods, including 4 where they rank #1.

Ranked #1Ranked #2–3Not in top 3
How they got there: Kayco Roofing owns the southwest — Orange Park and Middleburg, with reach into Fleming Island and Oakleaf Plantation: top 3 in 10 neighborhoods, ranked #1 or #2 in seven of them, worked from Blanding Boulevard in the middle of that territory. The engine is the biggest reputation of any map leader here: 458 reviews at 4.9.Reputation and address pointing the same direction — that's the whole formula, and Kayco is the only name on this board running both at full size. Clay County's growth corridor is filling with new roofs, and this profile is compounding right on top of it, four #1 spots this pass against none in July. For anyone bordering that ground: 458 reviews behind a Blanding Boulevard address is the closest thing this splintered market has to a finished moat. You don't take that head-on. You fortify your own edges before the bubble grows to them.

Reputation and reviews

Jacksonville is still one of the cheapest maps in this series. Four spots below were won by listings with zero reviews, the typical spot goes for 83, and even the dearest — 1,332 — costs well under what the priciest ground runs in our Tampa (1,901) or Broward (3,375) reports. Look at the spread before you set a review goal.

At one end, a quiet corner of Bryceville went to Priority Jacksonville… on just 0 reviews. At the other, a contested spot in Jacksonville took Trinity Restoration and…’s 1,332. The bar is set by who sits near you, not by one citywide number.

The review giants tell the usual story with a Jacksonville accent. Trinity Restoration's 1,332 reviews — the biggest pile in the metro — buy exactly one #1 spot: the single dearest on this map, at its far south end. Elo Roofing's 1,201 never crack a top 3 anywhere on this grid. Covenant's 717 buy two #2s. Call it 3,250 reviews across three names, holding one #1 spot between them — on a board where 83 reviews is the going rate for a win.

That's the math of a city this physically large: no reputation reaches across it, because nothing reaches across it. The giants aren't losing to bigger names. They're losing to closer ones — and in Jacksonville, there is always someone closer.

Most visible in search

Below the map, the search results run on different fuel. Heritage Roofing of North Florida's website is the #1 regular result for two of the three searches we track — and they're the rare name playing both surfaces, holding top-3 map ground in eight neighborhoods, two at #1, from Jacksonville Beach. Jack C. Wilson Roofing shows the other route: 256 reviews at 4.9 put them in the citywide map pack for every term we checked and on page one of the regular results for all three — while on the neighborhood grid they hold a single top-3 point. Reputation wins the citywide searches; it can't put you next door. Even the citywide packs split three ways — Southern Coast Roofing leads one, Jack C. Wilson another, Watson Jacksonville Roofing the third. Nobody owns the head of this market either.

The prize: 28 of the 68 searches we analyzed — things like “standing seam metal roof”, “gable roof”, “asphalt shingles” — never show a local pack, roughly 2,300 searches a month that skip the map entirely. Here's who showed up most in the search results:

What we measured

We analyzed the 68 highest-volume roofing searches in Jacksonville — about 6,730 searches a month — then searched Google Maps from 131 points spread across Jacksonville (points over water are skipped) to record exactly which roofing companies show up, and where. 373 distinct roofing businesses appeared — and the same handful of names came up again and again.

Google answers a local search in two places: the local pack — the little map and the few businesses shown first (you may know it as the “map pack”) — and the regular results beneath it. This report is about the local pack, where most of the clicks go. We looked only at the results companies earn — not sponsored placements (Local Services Ads, Google Ads), which sit above them and are a separate, pay-to-play game.

How these rankings work

Local rankings are always moving. Google refreshes them constantly, so the exact order at any single point can shift week to week, and the leader at a hotly contested spot today may not be the leader next month. Run one of these searches from your own corner of Jacksonville and you may see a slightly different lineup, because Google tailors what it shows to exactly where you're standing.

All of which is why the citywide map only tells you so much. The one that decides whether your phone rings is your own: where you already win, where you never appear, and where a competitor down the street is quietly taking ground you can't see.

Where do you show up on this map?

You've just seen who owns Jacksonville. The other half of the story is your company: which neighborhoods you show up in, which ones you don't, and who's getting the calls there instead. Type your company name and we'll pull up your live map. Free, and it takes about 10 seconds.
